Remembrance Day has special meaning for me and seems to be a day that Supportive Learning students can identify with as well. They seem to understand and respect the pain and loss that everyone goes through during a war. This year we learned about the significance of the poppy and why November 11th was chosen. Students created drawings, wrote a poem or personal essay and created a movie with our teacher-librarian, Mr. Wong. The movie was shown as part of our Remembrance Day service.
This is my second year as a District Behaviour Support and Intervention teacher with the New Westminster School District. My focus is on students who are having serious challenges with self-regulation across many domains - biological, emotional, cognitive, social and prosocial - at school, at home and in the community. My role is to provide support to teachers and teams to create an environment for success for the student.
