We talk a lot in our class about the power of physical activity, hard work and a positive attitude. Today we had a surprise visit from a man who lives and breathes this belief every day. We were thrilled when we learned that we were going to have a visit from Chris Boyko, a conditioning and fitness coach for the BC Lions. Then imagine our surprise and excitement when he arrived pushing a trolley with the actual Grey Cup perched on the top.
Chris gave us a very informative talk about the history of the Grey Cup and the BC Lions. He talked about the hard work and most important, team work that it takes to be a member of the team. He spoke of how they never gave up and how the team came to be called "Zeroes to Heroes" this year.
Chris patiently answered many questions and posed for pictures. We each got to hold the Cup ourselves! He ended by leading us in a great cheer that we will use from now on to help us stay motivated.
Thanks Chris and Keyshon for bringing the Grey Cup to our school!
