We start every day with 30 minutes of fitness activities. Rain or shine, before anyone takes of their coats, we head outside for a 2 km walk or run (minimum). We have a bark mulch trail which goes around the outside of our forest and playground which is about .5km in length. I recommend this Walk and Talk time and my #1 strategy for promoting and encouraging self-regulation. This gives me time to connect with students, allows friends to meet and catch up and gives students who need to wake up or run off energy a chance to do just that. Inbetween laps we do other exercises and stretches just to keep things interesting. If students finish in time - we head under cover to play a game of handball or soccer. Our focus is on the 3 Fs - FUN, FRIENDSHIP AND FITNESS!
